Questions

What people ask first

Do I need a referral?

No. A referral is common and helps us read your records, but you can book on your own. Some medical plans ask for one.

Do you work with my vision plan?

We work with many vision plans for routine eye exams, glasses and contact lenses. Call to confirm yours. How fees work explains which visits a vision plan pays.

Why was part of my visit billed to medical insurance?

A visit about a symptom or a follow-up is billed to medical insurance. A routine exam is billed to a vision plan. Many visits mix both.

Can I fill my prescription elsewhere?

Yes. Your prescription is yours, and we give you a copy after your exam and fitting.

Can I have my contact lens prescription?

Yes, once your fitting is finished and the doctor has checked the fit.

What do I bring?

Your glasses or contact lenses, your insurance cards and any records your referrer sent.

How much will it cost?

It depends on your plan and the visit. How fees work explains what sets the fee, and we give a written estimate in advance if you pay yourself.

Do you see children?

We see teens and adults for neuro-optometry. Call about younger patients and we will tell you who to see.

Are you taking new patients?

The top of this page shows whether we are. Call and the coordinator will tell you the next opening.

What should I do in an eye emergency?

Call us now, or go to the nearest emergency room, for sudden vision loss, a curtain over your vision, flashes of light, an eye injury or a chemical splash. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Still have a question?

Call and the coordinator will answer, or book an evaluation.
